Queen Mary Tavern— Location 1
The first stop on our Oyster Happy Hour adventure was the Queen Mary Tavern located at 2125 W Division St, Chicago, IL 60622. This was a great find and location I had never heard of prior to starting on The Great Chicago Oyster Happy Hour Adventure.
Ambience
This bar / restaurant is located on a very cool restaurant row in Ukrainian Village. I was very surprised that this was right down the street from one of my favorite dinner places Folklore (get the eggplant, it is life changing); Hello new pre dinner drinks spot.
When first approaching Queen Mary, it can be almost hidden, although the tell tale sign is the white overhang patio seating. The venue was packed at the time of arrival around 4:30pm, but walking through the patio area, I managed to find a seat at the vibrant and spacious bar inside. There are tables that seat a minimum of 4 patrons in the back, but even though there were many people, there was still ample room for us.
The bartenders were awesome and were sure to keep the martinis flowing. If you walk towards the back of the restaurant as well, you could watch people in the back shucking the oysters as well.
