This is a continuation of The Great Chicago Oyster Happy Hour Adventure series.
The next stop on our list was The Publican located at 837 W Fulton Market, Chicago, IL 60607. This location’s happy hour is Every Single Weekday from 4–6pm!
Ambience
The Publican’s layout reminds me of a large German beer hall. There are many tall, wooden booths surrounding the perimeter, many tables filling the interior, and a long L shaped bar that extends almost a fourth of the restaurant. The happy hour starts exactly when they open at 4pm, so when I arrived precisely at 4pm it was a little empty, but very soon started to fill out around 4:30pm.
This location had an extremely unique vibe, which was very fun to take part in. All bartenders and workers were very laid back and were casually joking around with one another while diligently performing their duties. I really enjoyed the background music, which showcased classic 90’s rock such as Blurry — Puddle Of Mudd and Times Like These — Foo Fighters.
